French

Young children are considered good language learners, and learning a language like French enhances their English literacy, problem-solving abilities, and overall brain function. It also promotes intercultural competence, preparing them for a globalized world and the transition to secondary education.

Our French curriculum introduces pupils to a new language in a fun and engaging way, helping them develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Through songs, games, stories, and interactive activities, children learn key vocabulary, simple phrases, and basic grammar while gaining an awareness of French culture. The curriculum is designed to build curiosity and enjoyment in language learning, as well as strong foundations for future study. By learning French, pupils also develop valuable communication skills and a greater understanding of the wider world.
